About Me
Originating from Mount Maunganui/Pāpāmoa, Ash picked up the guitar at 9 years old and fell in love with music. His musical journey has seen him performing in various bands around New Zealand. In 2009, Ash enrolled at S.I.T in Invercargill to study Music Performance and 12 years later Ash is now studying Music Production at SAE, graduating in November 2023. Ash is passionate about music and loves collaborating with other creatives.
Currently performing in the Leighton Fairlie Band and Matty & the Buxtones playing Bass, Keys and Synths respectively. Over the last four years Ash has performed at various Festivals around New Zealand including Baywatch Festival and Soundsplash as well as supporting NZ acts The Blackseeds, Katchafire, Summer Thieves, Tiki Taane, Sambora (Shapeshifter), Sons of Zion, Tomorrow People, TOI (Tunes of I). Ash has also performed in Jimi Kara Band (Kara Gordon) and alongside Daniel Weetman (The Blackseeds, DJ Sulu, Bermuda Wave).

Experience
Having over 15 years of live performance experience across New Zealand and due to finish a Music Production degree at SAE in 2023. If you need somebody to cover rhythm or lead guitar, bass, keyboards or synths across a range of genres including rock, reggae, dub, funk and drum'n'bass, or if you require a recording/mixing engineer or if you'd like another voice in your creative sessions, Ash would love to be a part of your next project.
